end of the Clamp is the adapter that comes from the Honda Ball joint adapter kit. It's shown in the pic of the kit just to the right of the pipe fitting and to the left of the nut and socket. Without that adapter the clamp has nothing to press against the back side of the ball joint. Both ends of the commercial clamp are open. One side for the screw bolt to thread through and the other to leave room for the joint that's being pressed out to pass through. On our cars we have to do it in reverse because of the direction our ball joint faces and proximity to the rear axle so requires all this extra hassle!
